Henri Purnell is half British, half German. Aside from that, the artist by no means stands for half-measures: Already at the age of seven, he discovers his passion for music; he learns to play piano and saxophone. At the age of 14, he starts writing his own songs. He refines his talent as a producer and quickly makes a name for himself in the field of electronic music.
But that’s not all. During the pandemic, he also gives free rein to his creativity in other ways and begins to knit and crochet. He shares all this with his followers – and is celebrated for his DIY creations! With his extraordinary vibe, the 25-year-old hits a nerve and inspires fans beyond Gen Z.
In 2022 Henri reinvents himself once again: He continuously works on his songs. The lyrics are becoming more personal. For the first time, he records his own vocals.
On his first EP called m.i.a., the artist sounds surprisingly different – yet utterly like himself: driving indie guitars and analog sounds join organic beats and warm piano sounds. And merge with his pleasantly intimate voice.
Henri Purnell’s songs are a declaration of love for the blooming of youth, for the light-heartedness of summer, for the freedom of lovers, and the spirit of optimism of an entire generation.
